Readers Question / Comment - How can I undo the sin unto death!

I've read in full your post on sin unto death several times. I committed the sin until death in Aug I've read the death comes up to 1-2 after the sentence. Up until this happening I had never heard of sin unto death even being in church. I had trouble with sin like everybody else in life so my question is now that I have crossed this line with God I now have ran outta chances and I'm just Gonna die a early death and I just have to deal with it or is there anyway I can do to undo my wrong doing?

Hi,

thanks for the email. I believe, as addressed in the article you read, that the sin unto death is speaking of physical death. This is a RARE event. God is the God of grace and He only takes believers home to himself through this judgement in rare cases. One such example in the Bible is the sin of Ananias and Sapphira in Acts 5. The fact that you are still writing means you haven't committed the sin unto death. There is nothing in the Bible that says the 'death' happens at a given period after the sin.

The Bible tells us what to do when we sin. We should confess it before God, repent and turn from it from a broken heart.

1 John 1:8-10 If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us. (9) If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (10) If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar and His word is not in us.

It is the ENEMY that would like you to believe that God will not forgive you anymore and that you have used up all your chances. This is NOT biblical. It is how the enemy likes to keep us in a perpetual sense of guilt and fear. Do not let him do this to you. There can be consequences to our sin, especially when our sin involves others, that God allows to teach us. But this doesn't mean that if we genuinely come to Him for forgiveness that He won't forgive us. He will. Jesus died for all of our sin 2000 years ago. For an example, consider the life of King David, a man after God's own heart. He committed adultery and murder. Have a read of the following study concerning this:

Hi,

I'm sorry to hear that you haven't been well. I also spent years (over 10) in poor health. It wasn't because of sin in my case... well not that i know of anyway. God can use health issues to get our attention but you do need to realize that He isn't someone who is up in Heaven trying to strike you down. God loves you and only desires the best for His children. If He has to use something that is hard for us to teach us, He can and will. But it doesn't mean that He doesn't love you. Let's say that your sickness is directly related to your sin (and I don't know that but let's say it is...) - if you are a believer in the Lord Jesus and have been saved then you are God's son. The Bible tells us that He can discipline us as sons but it is because He LOVES US.

Hebrews 12:5-8 And you have forgotten that word of encouragement that addresses you as sons: "My son, do not make light of the Lord's discipline, and do not lose heart when he rebukes you, (6) because the Lord disciplines those he loves, and he punishes everyone he accepts as a son." (7) Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as sons. For what son is not disciplined by his father? (8) If you are not disciplined (and everyone undergoes discipline), then you are illegitimate children and not true sons.

I understand that if you are unwell it is easy to think the worst of God and even focus on verses that might scare you in such a state, but you really do need to stand in faith and believe the Bible about His forgiveness when you come to Him confessing your sins and asking for forgiveness.

1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Proverbs 28:13 Whoever conceals his transgressions will not prosper, but he who confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy.
Psalm 32:2-5 Blessed is the man against whom the Lord counts no iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no deceit. For when I kept silent, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long. For day and night your hand was heavy upon me; my strength was dried up as by the heat of summer. Selah I acknowledged my sin to you, and I did not cover my iniquity; I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord,” and you forgave the iniquity of my sin. Selah
Isaiah 53:5 But he (Jesus) was wounded for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his stripes we are healed.

Your problem is that you think God has it in for you (He doesn't) and you are trying to live today based on a gloomy non-existent future that you have created in your head. I do understand that. When i was really sick I thought that was it for me... and I constantly let the worry of 'what might be (or not be) tomorrow' rob me of the strength for today. That is enough to drain the life from any person! My advise is to confess your sins before God, ask for forgiveness, and especially go to someone like your Pastor and tell them that you want to repent of what you have done. They can then pray with you. God is the God of restoration. He is the God of second chances. And the third. And the forth. Jesus told Peter to not just forgive 7 times but 70 X 7. Is God going to do less than that which is asked of man? No. Believe that there is a great future as you come to him humbly in repentance once again. To a nation under judgement because of their sin, God said the following (believe it for yourself)

Jeremiah 29:10-14 This is what the LORD says: "When seventy years are completed for Babylon, I will come to you and fulfill my gracious promise to bring you back to this place. (11) For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. (12) Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. (13) You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. (14) I will be found by you," declares the LORD, "and will bring you back from captivity. I will gather you from all the nations and places where I have banished you," declares the LORD, "and will bring you back to the place from which I carried you into exile."

May God bless you and I will pray for you.
